At a special board meeting on November 2, 2023, the Huntley Community School District 158 Board of Education selected Dana Wiley to fill the vacant board seat, replacing Gina Galligar following her resignation in September.
Nine board candidates were interviewed on October 23, 2023, three of whom returned last night for a second round interview during closed session at the regular board meeting on November 2, 2023.
Ms. Wiley is a Huntley 158 parent with a background in business leadership and project management in the insurance and IT industries. She is currently working as a proposal manager for a software development firm. Over the past 15 years, Ms. Wiley has been actively involved in D158 and the community, serving on the Chesak-Martin PTA for eight years and on various district committees (strategic planning committee, elementary parent advisory committee, and dual language committee), as well as volunteering through church and youth sports programs. Wiley holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from DePaul University.
“I am honored to have been selected from an extremely qualified group of applicants for this important role,” said Wiley. ”I appreciate the time the board took to interview all the candidates and make this decision and look forward to working with the entire board, our staff and administrators, students, and our community, to continue making D158 an outstanding district.”

Ms. Wiley will be sworn in at the regular board meeting on November 9, 2023 to begin her tenure on the board. Her term will run through the spring of 2025.
